1. What are the benefits of increasing an individual's media literacy?
Media literacy allows an individual to understand and analyze different forms of media. By interpreting a form of media such as an advertisement, various aspects of that particular advertisement can be identified. An analysis can provide information such as the purpose, point of view, and intended audience. Increasing a person's media literacy would increase all these various skills and allow them to take in more forms of media. Enhancing one's skill can also be beneficial for in the work place. Having these media literacy skills will allow people in the fields of marketing and advertisement to create media that can reach its intended target and communicate a specific message.

2. What are the benefits of increasing a society's media literacy?
The same idea principles of increasing a single person's media literacy applies to increasing the media literacy of society as a whole. A population could be exposed to more types of media. Advertisements in the shape of images and video can be shown to society without overwhelming people. This increase in media literacy will also provide benefits for businesses. Productivity will be increased because employees are proficient in creating insightful media that can communicate and send messages to consumers.

Some pitfalls of teach media literacy would be a decrease in the persuasiveness of media. The advertisements that businesses create might not convince consumers to buy their products and services because consumers understand what the advertisements are trying to accomplish. Thus, the media that business produce in order to increase exposure to their products may become less effective. Conversely, if society as a whole does not increase its media literacy, business could exploit that. Their advertisements can manipulate uneducated consumers and persuade them to purchase the products and services they are offering.

Variety is a major part of this Nike commercial. The video takes you through various times of a player's career; beginning in playing in the lower league, being scouted by a manager of a top team, the hard training that you endure, and playing against the best teams and players. Movement is also an important component of the video. The camera is always moving at a fast pace to mimic the speed of the game. It is directing you to the focal point of each scene whether it be the ball or another player.

There is a roller coaster of emotion in the video for the viewer. Excitement and passion for the game is present throughout. There is a sense of great awe because of the famous players and teams. The video is inspirational and shows the hard work needed to reach the top level. Also, there is some comedy to break up the intensity of some scenes.
4. What do you believe is the intended message of the advertisement?
The message of the video is to show the work needed to take it to the next level. The video begins with you scoring in a game while playing in a lower league in England. You get picked up by Arsenal, a world class team. You quickly find out that it's not as easy as your old team. The competition is much tougher and you must train hard in order to each the level required to play for the team. Eventually, your hard work is rewarded and the video ends with you playing for your national team. The underlying message is with hard work, you can achieve your dream.

Several issues are brought up during the commercial. After being signed by Arsenal, you see all the perks associated with being on a world class team. The facilities, jerseys, stadiums, etc are all better than anything you've used before. Quickly the glamour catches up with you and you experience the social status that comes with being a professional soccer player. You go out in public and people know who you are. Women use their sex appeal to attract you. You are able to afford new sports cars and other luxuries. Luckily though you remember your roots and morals. You visit your family and share the experience with them.

This advertisement is very effective in conveying its message. The video takes you literally through the eyes of a professional soccer player. This point of view alone grabs the attention of the audience because of its uniqueness. The advertisement shows that hard work is needed to play at the top level of soccer. This is accomplished by showing you what is done at training and how hard the players work. It even shows the player throwing up because of the intensity of the workout. Another aspect that makes the advertisement effective is how it has famous players, teams, and stadiums that are instantly recognizable. This allows viewers to relate to the video. The video shows the rewards of your hard work and dedication. This tells the audience that their goals can be achieved if they put in the effort and commitment.

The only negative aspect of the video is the length. It would have to be shortened in order to be used on television. The commercial in its current form is only suitable for the internet.

Once the World Cup was completed, this image was created. The statue symbolizes Andres Iniesta scoring the game wining goal in the World Cup Final. The advertisement shows that history has just been written and the moment will never be forgotten.

The social and cultural context of the advertisement is immense. The significance of the event the statue symbolizes is global. Millions of people watched the final game. The World Cup as a whole is a social topic that unites people all around the world. The final game then is the most important sporting event in the whole world. The advertisement represents how socially significant that final goal was. Culturally, the image represents a lot as well. Spain had never won the World Cup before. The advertisement is an icon of how historically important that event was.

I believe the advertisement is effective. It captures the historic conclusion to the World Cup. A goal late into extra time broke the scoreless tie. One moment of brilliance changed history. The Nike promotional campaign asking who will write the future had been answered, Andres Iniesta. The advertisement is simple, but it gets the message across to the audience.

The name of the player could have been added in order to inform people that don't follow soccer.
